The Hillsdale FD responded to 3 calls for service on August 9th, 2 of which were caused by the winds brought on by the remnants of Hurricane Debby.

Just after 0800 hours, the FD was dispatched to the area of Ruckman and Piermont for a transformer fire. 27 Car 1 arrived and determined there was a tree rubbing against the high tension wires which caused the fire. The fire had self extinguished and the Chief returned 27 Engine 1.

At 1219 hours, a large tree came down across Kinderkamack at Liberty Ave and was laying on power lines. The FD arrived and assisted the HPD in making the area safe.

While on scene, the FD was alerted of a CO alarm activation which was handled by the Deputy Chief and 27 Rescue
